Exercise is Medicine was founded in 2017 by Tasneem Allie. It is a 100% citizen owned company.
Tasneem Allie has worked with gyms, clinics, physiotherapists, schools and counselling centres in South Africa & Botswana, and has gained extensive experience in doing so.
Sedentary patients, or those with chronic diseases often have limited access to exercise programs within the healthcare setting. Patients need community-based solutions (professionals, places, programs) where they can be physically active and receive expert training. As a properly prepared exercise professional, Tasneem Allie works with referred / non-referred patients and develops on-going relationships with healthcare providers and practises.
EIM works effectively as a member of the extended healthcare team, providing exercise guidance to individuals with most common chronic diseases, and utilise behavioural support strategies to help a patient successfully integrate regular physical activity into their lives.
